We are currently accepting applications for EMS placements at Warren House Vets – here’s some more information about what a placement might look like for you at our practice.
EMS student experience
We prefer to take on those from the third year onwards so they can get the best experience, using the knowledge they have gained from the previous two years.
Opportunities available for EMS students and working hours
The EMS students have a 35-40-hour week, during which they shadow the vets within the practice. They are generally placed on a mixture of consult days, surgery days and CP visits.
What do we expect from our EMS students and what can they expect in return
Depending on the student's experience, we try to offer what their university requires. Nurses are happy to show them blood sampling, catheter placements, etc. During surgery, we are happy for them to close skin and do FNA, which are basically simple, uncomplicated procedures that are safe to perform under supervision.
Travel and accommodation
Our students will be placed across our different branches (High Halstow, Lordswood, Rochester, and Walderslade). This will give them a better opportunity to learn from the different sites and our experienced Associates.
